บทคัดย่อ
การประชาสัมพันธ์ข้อมูลด้านทุนการศึกษาในปัจจุบันมีหลายรูปแบบ ส่วนใหญ่เป็นการให้ข้อมูลรายบุคคล สอบถามทางโทรศัพท์และข้อมูลเผยแพร่บนเวบไซด์ของหน่วยงาน แต่มักประสบปัญหาเดียวกันในเรื่องบุคคลกรผู้ให้ข้อมูลมีจำนวนไม่เพียงพอและระยะเวลาในการให้บริการมีจำกัด ส่วนข้อมูลบนเวบไซด์นั้นผู้สนใจต้องค้นหาอ่านข้อมูลเอง ซึ่งมักใช้เวลามากในการค้นหาข้อมูลและบ่อยครั้งที่กลับค้นหาไม่พบข้อมูลที่เหมาะสม อีกทั้งข้อมูลด้านทุนการศึกษาบนเวบไซด์ส่วนใหญ่ยังไม่มีระบบช่วยทำนายความเป็นไปได้ในการได้รับทุนการศึกษา
การศึกษาค้นคว้าอิสระนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาระบบแนะแนวข้อมูลด้านทุนการศึกษา ตามหลักการเทคนิคให้คำปรึกษา (Counseling Technique) และประยุกต์ใช้เทคนิคการทำเหมืองข้อมูล (Data Mining) วิเคราะห์หาความสัมพันธ์ของคุณสมบัติต่างๆ ของนักศึกษาที่ได้รับทุน สร้างโมเดลการวิเคราะห์และทำนายเพื่อจัดทำระบบแนะแนวให้ผู้สอบถามสามารถเข้าถึงข้อมูลทุนฯ ในประเภทที่เหมาะสมกับคุณสมบัติของนักศึกษาพร้อมทำนายโอกาสที่จะได้รับทุนไว้ด้วย การพัฒนาระบบในเบื้องต้นจะทำเหมืองข้อมูลทุนการศึกษา 3 ประเภทที่มีผู้สนใจสอบถามมากที่สุด ได้แก่ 1) ทุนต่อเนื่อง 4 ปีสำหรับนักศึกษาที่มีผลการเรียนดีเด่น ใช้เทคนิค Association Rules Discovery และ Decision Trees 2) ทุนเรียนดีประพฤติดี ใช้เทคนิค Decision Trees และ 3) ทุนประเภทขาดแคลนทุนทรัพย์ ใช้เทคนิค Data Clustering, Association Rules Discovery และ Decision Trees ซึ่งผลที่ได้จากการใช้งานระบบที่พัฒนาขึ้นนี้ ผู้สอบถามสามารถค้นหาข้อมูลที่เกี่ยวข้องกับทุนการศึกษาที่เหมาะสมกับคุณสมบัติของนักศึกษาและตรงตามความสนใจได้รวดเร็วยิ่งขึ้นได้ตลอด 24 ชั่วโมงผ่านเวบไซด์
Abstract
Providing of scholarship information are various practices now; such as inquiring in person, by phone and contents available on the website. The practices often confront with a problem lack of staff providing the information and also limitation of working hours. An information on the website must be searched by an inquirer that may spends a long time for searching, and sometimes cannot reach into the information---even it already exists on the website. Moreover, most scholarship content on the web is an overview or general information, not a tail of opportunity for receiving a scholarship.
Thus, the objective of this independent study is to develop a scholarship guiding system using counseling and data mining techniques. Under data mining methods, several interesting qualifications of scholarship recipients will be analysed to discover an interesting association rules, generate models for further analysis and prediction. The developed system is designed to guide an inquirer along to reach the appropriate scholarships with some trail of opprotunity for receiving a scholarship. Top three frequently asked scholarship programs were analysed using data mining techniques; 1) 4-Year Continuing Scholarships for Academically Outstanding Students using association rules discovery and decision trees techniques, 2) Scholarships for Students with Good Acadmic Performance and Good Conduct using decision trees technique and 3) Scholarships for Students with Financial Needs using data clustering, association rules discovery and decision trees techniques. Using of the developed system, inquirers can reach to the appropriate scholarship programs which meet their specific student’s qualification and interest more rapidly in any time 24 hours a day from the website.
