บทคัดย่อ
ธุรกิจงานขนส่งเป็นธุรกิจงานให้บริการ ที่มีภาวะการแข่งขันค่อนข้างสูง ได้แก่ การแข่งขันในด้านของคุณภาพการให้บริการ การแข่งขันในด้านการควบคุมต้นทุนการดำเนินงาน การแข่งขันทางด้านราคา และ ตลอดจนถึงการแข่งขันทางด้านการปรับปรุงกระบวนการทำงานในทุกๆด้าน นอกจากนี้ยังประสบกับปัญหาความเสียเปรียบ เนื่องจากการเข้ามาดำเนินธุรกิจของบริษัทข้ามชาติอีกด้วย ซึ่งบริษัทข้ามชาติที่กล่าวถึงนี้มักจะมีมาตรฐานการทำงานที่สูง มีเงินทุนมหาศาล และยังเป็นที่ยอมรับของบริษัทต่างๆ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในหมู่ของบริษัทข้ามชาติด้วยกันเองค่อนข้างมาก
ดังนั้นในการปรับปรุงคุณภาพของงานและ การพัฒนามาตรฐานของกระบวนการทำงานให้มีมาตรฐานเป็นที่ยอมรับและแข่งขันได้นั้น จึงจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่จะต้องมีเครื่องมือที่จะช่วยสนับสนุนการทำงานให้มีประสิทธิภาพ ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าในฐานะของผู้ที่ทำงานในธุรกิจด้านงานขนส่งและยังเป็นผู้ที่ทำการศึกษาทางด้านวิชาเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศน์ จึงมีความคิดที่จะนำเอาทฤษฏีและความรู้ทางด้านเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศน์มาใช้ประยุกต์และใช้ในการปรับปรุงงาน โดยจะเริ่มจากการศึกษาความต้องการของธุรกิจและนำมาวิเคราะห์เพื่อพัฒนาให้เป็นระบบงาน(Application) ที่สามารถช่วยปรับปรุงการทำงานให้มีคุณภาพและขีดความสามารถสูงขึ้น โดยระบบงานที่ว่านี้จะเป็นระบบงานประเภทฐานข้อมูล (Data-base Application) ที่ใช้จัดเก็บข้อมูลการปฏิบัติงาน (Transaction Data) ซึ่งข้อมูลที่ถูกจัดเก็บนี้จะถูกนำไปประมวลผลและพัฒนาเป็นข้อมูลที่สามารถนำมาใช้ช่วยสำหรับการตัดสินใจทางธุรกิจ (Decision Support System) ได้ต่อไป โดยระบบงานนี้จะถูกพัฒนาโดยเน้นให้มีความสะดวกในการใช้งานสำหรับผู้ใช้งาน (User friendly Interfaces) เน้นให้มีประสิทธิภาพในการจัดเก็บและให้มีประสิทธิภาพในการบริหารฐานข้อมูล ลดงานซ้ำซ้อนและความผิดพลาดของการจัดเก็บข้อมูล ตลอดจนให้สามารถสร้างรายงานเพื่อเป็นเครื่องมือที่จะช่วยในการตัดสินใจได้อย่างหลากหลายสำหรับผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องอีกด้วย
Abstract
Transportation business is one of service businesses which is running in a very high competitive business environment. For example it needs a lot of competitiveness in several areas, such as service-quality, costs controlling ability and also business improvement in all aspects.
Apart from this, we still have to compete with many multi-national companies. All these multi- national companies have more advantages than our local company in terms of size of funds, technology know-how and also were very well-recognized among their multi-national company themselves.
Therefore we need to improve our-selves in terms of services quality, services standard and better working processes in order to raise our quality of service level and recognition to be able to compete with all other multi-national company. So I myself who have been studying in Master of Sciences Information Technology and need to use this Information Technology knowledge to apply all the theory of Information Technology to improve and create some more advantages and efficiency in Transportation Business. In my Independent Study, I start by reviewing and analyzing the business basic requirements and then develop it to be an application which is designed for helping the business in improving their quality of services and competitive ability. This application is some kind of Data-base Application, it’s purpose is to be a tool for keeping the business Key Transaction Data and to be a tool for managing and processing the data to be more valuable information that can help the business in decision making (Decision Support System). To give the user convenient in using it, this application also been considered and designed with a very User Friendly Interfaces to enhance the efficiency and ability of data keeping and managing as a well design Data Base Management System. Finally, it also been designed to have an ability of creating many reports, which are important for management to use them in making many business important decisions.
