บทคัดย่อ
โครงงานนี้เป็นการพัฒนาแอพพลิเคชั่นที่ใช้ในการถ่ายภาพป้ายข้อความภาษาไทย แล้วแปลข้อความภาษาไทยในภาพนั้นให้เป็นภาษาอังกฤษ โดยเทคนิคที่ใช้ คือเทคนิคการแปลงไฟล์ภาพข้อความเป็นตัวอักษร (Optical character recognition หรือ OCR) และใช้เทคโนโลยีการประมวลผลภาษาธรรมชาติ (Natural language processing หรือ NLP) ในการแปลภาษา โดยในงานนี้ จะพัฒนาบน mobile Android OS สำหรับใช้งานบนโทรศัพท์มือถือ เพื่อให้นักท่องเที่ยวสามารถใช้งานได้อย่างสะดวกสบาย เนื่องจากเป็นอุปกรณ์พกพาขนาดเล็ก ซึ่งโครงงานนี้จะแบ่งการพัฒนาออกเป็น 5 ส่วน 1. ส่วนแอพพลิเคชั่นบนโทรศัพท์มือถือ 2. ส่วนประมวลผลเบื้องต้น (Preprocessing) 3. ส่วนแปลงไฟล์ภาพเป็นข้อความ 4. ส่วนแปลภาษา ซึ่งในแอพพลิเคชั่นนี้ได้ใช้งาน API ของ Bing translator ในการแปลภาษา 5. ส่วนประมวลผลส่วนท้าย (Post-processing) ผลลัพธ์ความถูกต้องของส่วนแปลงไฟล์ภาพเป็นข้อความ วัดความถูกต้องของข้อความที่ได้จากส่วนแปลงไฟล์ภาพเป็นข้อความเทียบกับข้อความในรูปภาพนำเข้า พบว่าฟ้อนท์ที่นำไป train จะได้ความถูกต้องมากกว่าฟ้อนที่ไม่ได้ train ส่วนความถูกต้องของส่วนประมวลผลส่วนท้าย พบว่าจะช่วยให้ความถูกต้องเพิ่มขึ้นจากส่วนแปลงไฟล์ภาพเป็นข้อความได้
Abstract
Thai to English Photo Translator Application on Android-based Mobile Phone is the application use for take photos of Thai language text and translate the text to English language. This application builds up to help the foreigner when they came to Thailand and cannot read Thai language. They can use this application to understand Thai language text on signs or food menus by translate to English language. The technique used on this paper is Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to convert text on image to text file and Natural Language Processing (NLP). This application develop on Android OS for mobile and separate into 5 modules that is 1.Application on mobile 2.Preprocessing 3.OCR that use Tesseract from Google 4.Post-processing 5.Translator that use API from Bing
The result of this application evaluate by accuracy of text result from OCR and post-processing module. The result of OCR, we have seen that input with trained font has higher accuracy than non-trained font. And the post-processing module can increase accuracy from output of the OCR module.
